WHAT’S YOUR STORY?
A consultancy firm in Manchester once pitched to a German company for a piece of work. They were one of 3 suppliers in the frame but didn’t win the bid. They asked the company why. “Your presentation was very professional,” the client explained. “But the one we chose just felt better.”
That same firm later became a client of mine and we both agreed that what they needed was a better story, one that appealed to both head and heart. This is the basis of my work in communication skills. It’s the storyselling approach – a kind of ‘Verbal PR’.
